Your organization does transformative work. You should not have to choose between running programs and funding them. Prentiss Consulting provides dedicated development so your leadership team can focus on mission.
Most grant help comes from writers. This comes from someone who has run the programs.
I have spent more than thirty years in the nonprofit sector, in nearly every seat there is. I have directed programs, led large staffs, and managed real budgets. I have also done the frontline work, case management and crisis support, including wildfire recovery case management in Lahaina, helping families navigate a system that was never built for what happened to them.
Most of those years were spent on the receiving end of grants, running the programs they fund and turning the work into the numbers a funder wants to see. That is a useful thing to know how to do, now that I am the one writing the proposals.
Prentiss Consulting exists because Maui's nonprofits do essential work on budgets that do not match it, often with no one whose job is to find the next dollar. I live here. I know the funders, the organizations, and the way this community actually works. An off-island grant shop cannot offer that at any price.
Before we meet, I will have already studied your funders and found specific opportunities that fit your mission. That is what we sit down and go through.
A minimum of three funding opportunities identified each month, matched to your mission, programs, and eligibility. Each includes a funder profile, award range, and deadline.
Reporting on your active grants, drafted to each funder's deadline, including narrative drafts and outcomes dashboards. Keep funders informed, relationships strong, and renewals on track.
Up to two complete grant applications per month. Narratives, budget justifications, attachments, and coordination with your staff for program data. You review and approve everything before submission.
A monthly check-in to adjust goals and discuss issues, align grant strategy with organizational priorities, and plan ahead.
A rolling twelve-month grant calendar tracking every opportunity, deadline, and reporting requirement. Updated monthly and shared with your team.
A special project, a capital campaign narrative, a board presentation. Additional work is available at $125 per hour with your written approval before any work begins.
Core grant development for organizations with one to two active grants and an emerging pipeline.
Full-scope support for growing organizations with multiple active grants and reporting obligations.
Comprehensive partnership including strategic planning, funder cultivation, and expanded support.
No success fees. No percentage of awards. No guarantees of funding. What you get is a senior consultant with more than thirty years of nonprofit leadership experience producing professional-quality applications on deadline, every month, at a fraction of the cost of a staff hire. Tell me about your organization and what you are working toward. If Prentiss Consulting is a fit, we will start with your funders, not a sales pitch.
